hi all the people, Hello,
i I don't understand this :
8. It is difficult to think that one man cans can (can) do so much.
Why the verb to can don't take a S in this phrase ?
the verb is at the third person of singular no ?

Why doesn't the verb
C'est bien la troisième personne du singulier, mais "can" appartient à une catégorie spéciale de verbes appelés "modal verbs" (comprenant aussi may, might, must et quelques autres), qui ne prennent pas de -s à la troisième personne du singulier, qui n'ont pas d'infinitif (donc pas
(Il existe cependant un verbe régulier to can, signifiant "mettre en conserve".)
